PAOK writes history by making CEV Cup quarterfinals
2014 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men

Thessaloniki, Greece, December 12, 2013. Greece’s PAOK THESSALONIKI qualified to the 1/4 finals of the 2014 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men following their 3:1 home victory over Serbia’s Radnicki KRAGUJEVAC (17-25, 25-21, 25-23, and 26-24) on Wednesday. The players of PAOK showed their experience to edge the young guys from Serbia and achieve their best result ever in the European Cups. Their opponent in the next round will be Germany’s sensation TV Ingersoll BÜHL that upset at the golden set Italy’s standout Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO.
The coach of PAOK, Aristidis Yamakidis, was overwhelmed with joy: “We have achieved something historic for our club as we have made it among the top eight in the CEV Cup and I am very happy that I could contribute to this success. Still I am not very satisfied with the performance we have showed tonight even though I know that the players are tired and so fatigue had a role. They did the best they could so that in the end we made it through” he concluded.
