TOURS VB seeks for promotion to Playoffs 12 via home match with Bulgarian champions
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men

Tours, France, December 16, 2013. France’s TOURS VB will be playing on Wednesday their last match in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men hosting Bulgaria’s Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA at the Robert Grenon sports hall. TOURS VB claimed the away match played in Bulgaria some weeks ago in straight sets with their captain David Konecny registering 14 points in the end.
TOURS VB lost last week in straight sets to Italy’s vice champions Copra Elior PIACENZA and as a result of that, they can only target second place in their Pool hoping to finish among the five second-ranked teams with the best score to make the Playoffs 12. DUPNITSA, on the other hand, scored their first victory in the competition as they beat ACH Volley LJUBLJANA of Slovenia anchored by Venelin Kadankov who chipped in with 14 points.

TOURS VB is currently ranked third in their national league after losing 2:3 in the last round to another CL competitor, PARIS Volley. The team was paced by Kamil Baranek with 19 points and though they suffered that setback, they look well ready for the last round of action in the prelims of the Champions League. As for Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA, they just swept another game in their national league beating Slavia SOFIA and they currently top the charts there with an immaculate record.

“We want to forget the defeat we suffered last week to PIACENZA and concentrate only and exclusively on the upcoming game with DUPNITSA” says TOURS VB mentor Mauricio Paes. “This match is very important because if we win, we will make the Playoffs 12 of Europe’s elite club competition.”
