Lokomotiv and Zenit go for another clash of the titans in Pool E
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League — Men
Novosibirsk, Russia, December 6, 2013. Russia’s Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK and Zenit KAZAN will be crossing their ways this coming Tuesday, December 10, for another “clash of the titans” as the winners of the 2013 and 2012 editions are vying for a spot in the Playoffs 12 of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men.
Lokomotiv got a huge boost of energy from their home victory over Lube Banca Marche MACERATA (3:1) last Tuesday especially as their opponents had previously swept three matches in a row with straight victories in the first and second round over Zenit KAZAN and Austria’s rookie Posojilnica AICH/DOB. The Siberian Volleyball community hopes that Lokomotiv will seize the night also as they play archrivals Zenit KAZAN in a remake of last year’s semifinal so as to keep alive their chances to make the next round of Europe’s elite club competition.
Zenit KAZAN claimed the home match with Lokomotiv (3:1) but it is very difficult to make any predictions and many fans will be attending the clash starring the Tatars and the silver medalists from this year’s Club World Championships in Brazil. In a couple of weeks the League Round will come to a close and up to two teams from this group of death will qualify to the Playoffs 12.
