TOURS VB hosts Slovenia’s champions in attempt to prolong their winning streak
2014 CEV DenizBank VolleyBall Champions League - Men

Tours, France, December 2, 2013. The provisional leaders of Pool A, France’s TOURS VB, will play this week Slovenia’s ACH Volley LJUBLJANA in the fourth round of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League hoping to prolong their winning streak in the competition. TOURS VB currently tops the charts in their Pool with eight points and three wins in as many matches.
A few weeks ago TOURS VB edged ACH Volley LJUBLJANA 3:1 in an away match where team captain David Konecny registered 24 points thereby winning the duel with ACH Volley opposite player Andelko Cuk who finished the game with 21. The start of the game was very close but in the end TOURS VB could impose their rule to bring it home in four sets.
TOURS VB will host ACH Volley after claiming their eighth victory in France’s national league as this past weekend they edged NANTES Rezé Métropole 3:1. With this result TOURS VB cemented their third place in the standing of the championship while ACH Volley just routed Slovakia’s Chemes HUMENNE in straight sets in the last round of the Middle European League.
ACH Volley will be extra motivated to take their revenge after losing their home game at Stožice sports hall. “We are going to play for keeping the leadership in our Pool as we cross the ways of ACH Volley” says TOURS VB head coach Mauricio Paes. “We need to play as we did in Slovenia so as to confirm that we are the best team in the group” he concludes.
