PARIS Volley set to take on Pool C leader BUDVA
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men

Paris, France, November 6, 2013. On Thursday PARIS Volley will be hosting the current leaders of Pool C, Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA, for the third round of action in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Men. BUDVA caused a sensation last week as they beat the pre-favourite in the group, Poland’s Asseco Resovia RZESZOW, at the tie-break to follow up on their straight victory over Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE from the first round.
PARIS Volley has been going through ups and downs recently losing their season’s opener in Europe’s elite club competition to Asseco Resovia RZESZOW before cashing a home victory over SAINT-NAZAIRE in the national league. They showed a very solid performance in the Czech Republic to edge there Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE but upon their return home they lost their next fixture in the national league to the team from NARBONNE. To compensate for the injury suffered by their Serbian opposite Goran Maric in the match with Resovia, PARIS recently signed Mory Sidibé, a member of France’s national team who started his Volleyball career in Asnières, a famous Volleyball club from the outskirts of the French capital.

The game coming up on Thursday will be crucial for both teams: if they win, BUDVA will additionally cement their leadership in Pool C whereas PARIS needs a home victory to stay in contention for a spot in the Playoffs 12. There shall be many fans in attendance hoping to get and better the great ambiance created two weeks ago by the supporters of Asseco Resovia who had travelled to Paris to support their heroes in white and red stripes.
