Tomis CONSTANTA wants to cause a sensation while hosting Turkish Dream Team
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men

Constanta, Romania, October 28, 2013. On Wednesday Romania’s Tomis CONSTANTA will play Turkey’s Halkbank ANKARA in the second round of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League. Halkbank signed this summer some major international stars like for instance Matey Kaziyski and Osmany Juantorena as they try to seize the trophy of Europe’s elite club competition right by their first participation.
As they were playing their 50th match in the European Cups, Tomis CONSTANTA edged Hypo Tirol last week at the Olympic stadium in Innsbruck to improve their win/loss record to 27:23. After claiming this away victory, Romania’s champions are not afraid of playing the star-studded team from Turkey’s capital city and hope as many fans as possible will show up on Wednesday night also to enjoy the actions displayed by Kaziyski, Juantorena, Raphael Vieira de Oliveira and Mitar Tzourits, to name only a few of the stars starring for Halkbank.

“We will do everything we can to make it hard for Halbank to win in Constanta. If they eventually claim a victory, this means that they were better than us. This isn’t a deciding match, but it is important in the fight for first place in the group and we want to win, though every point is important” says the Bulgarian mentor of Tomis CONSTANTA, Martin Stoev.

“Every time you play against strong opponents you are more motivated and concentrated to do your best. Halkbank is a strong team, but we want to deliver a good performance. I always hope that as many fans as possible will come to the gym to support us”, adds Sergiu Stancu.

Israel Calderon Rodriguez, a former European champion with Spain’s national team in 2007, says: “It will be a difficult game, but we’ll get on the field determined to play our best. We will not surrender easily and we will try to take advantage of any weakness in their game.”
