Arkas IZMIR wants to bounce back after unexpected setback
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Men

Izmir, Turkey, October 25, 2013. On Friday Arkas IZMIR had the opportunity to meet the media and discuss about the goals Turkey’s champions have set for their participation in the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League. The press conference held at the Atatürk Volleyball Arena was attended by Arkas Spor Co-ordinator Yasar Ergun, head coach Glenn Hoag, team captain Mustafa Ramazanoglu and vice-captain John Gordon Perrin.
“We just lost on Wednesday our first match to Energy Investments LUGANO but we are as confident as we were before the start of this campaign” Ergun said. “Day by day we want to improve and our goal is to make the final four of this year’s CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League. We will play our first home match next Tuesday as we host BERLIN Recycling Volleys. I would like our fans to come to the stadium and support us as they have been doing in the past”.

“We suffered a defeat that none expected from us as we played LUGANO in our first match in Switzerland” said Canadian mentor Glenn Hoag. “However, our opponents played really well and they deserved this victory. We could not implement our game plan. We are a young team and we need to better explain to our players what we want from them and we expect them to perform. We will minimize our mistakes and demonstrate what we are capable of. The other matches in our group are not going to be easier than the game we played in Switzerland. We were assigned to a much tougher group than the one we were last season. We definitely need a home victory on Tuesday as we play BERLIN Recycling Volleys at Atatürk Volleyball Hall” he concluded.
