44 National Federations have entered the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship - Men.
7 of these National Federations have entered into the Small Countries Division.
That leaves 37, plus Luxembourg who have entered both, which makes 38
National Federations in the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship –
Bulgaria and Italy will organise the Final Round of the 2015 CEV
Volleyball European Championship - Men and are therefore directly
qualified to it.
The 5 highest placed teams in the standing from the previous edition
(not qualified as an organiser) are also directly qualified to the Final
Round (RUS, SRB, FRA, GER & BEL).
Small Countries Division
7 National Federations have entered into the Small Countries
Division (SCD) and will play in two Qualification Round Tournaments in
Cyprus and Iceland, which will take place between the second weekend in
May till the 30th June 2014.
The SCD Men’s Final Round will be held in Luxembourg between the last weekend of May and the end of June 2015.
With 38 teams registering for this European Championship, 12 will
compete in three 1st Round tournaments consisting of 4 teams. The 1st
Round dates are either between the 8th – 10th May 2014, or 9th – 11th
The three 1st placed teams and the two 2nd placed teams with the best score will qualify for the 2nd Round.
24 teams will compete in the 2nd Round, where each pool of 4 teams will
play in 2 tournaments between 22nd – 25th May 2014 and 29th May – 1st
June 2014 (the last competition day must be on a Saturday or a Sunday).
The 1st placed teams of each pool (A-B-C-D-E-F) qualify directly for the Final Round.
The 2nd placed teams of each pool (A-B-C-D-E-F) qualify for the 3rd Round.
The 2nd placed teams of the 6 pools in the 2nd Round will play one home
and one away match to determine the 3 winners who will then subsequently be
qualified through to the Final Round.
The 3rd Round dates are scheduled to be the: 23rd - 24th May 2015 and
*30th – 31st May 2015 (* Date to be reviewed due to a possible clash
with the FIVB World League).
16 teams will compete in the Final Round from October 9-18, 2015 with the final weekend taking place at Armeec Arena in Sofia.
