All the eight pool winners in the women’s competition are still unbeaten on the Turkish sand. In Pool A, the Spanish duo Tania Moreno Matveeva and María Belén Carro Márquez de Acuña surprised almost everyone by winning all of their three matches. Tania Moreno Matveeva is only 14 years-old, but together with her teammate she already made it to the second elimination round.

In Pool B the Swiss team of Selina Marolf and Zoé Vergé-Dépré claimed the first spot. Zoé Vergé-Dépré has strong Beach Volleyball genes; her sister Anouk is a well-known player performing on the World Tour.

Katharina Holzer and Nikolina Maros (pictured) from Austria lived up to their status as favourites in Pool C. After winning silver at the 2015 CEV U18 Beach Volleyball European Championship, Katharina Holzer made a great start to repeat this success together with her new partner Nikolina Maros.

The reigning U20 European champions from The Netherlands, Joy Stubbe and Nika Daalderop, did not drop a single set in Pool D. Until now, the quest for a back-to-back title is running smoothly for the Dutch talents.

In Pool E the girls from Czech Republic Tereza Kotlasova and Daniela Resova won an interesting match for the top rank against the strong Finnish team Ida Sinisalo and Niina Ahtiainen. Thanks to their 2-1 come-from-behind victory (14-21, 23-21, 16-14) over Finland, Kotlasova and Resova can skip the first elimination round.

Pools F and G were dominated by the Russian teams Svetlana Kholomina/Daria Mastikova and Elizaveta Zayonchkovskaya/Daria Rudykh. Especially the performance of Kholomina and Mastikova was impressive. With a score of 1,750, they had the best point ratio across all eight pools.

In Pool H Live Johanne Lunde Fossdal and Sunniva Helland-Hansen from Norway managed to leave behind the strong German team of Leonie Körtzinger and Lena Ottens. The Scandinavian Beach Volleyball players claimed 1st place in the pool by defeating Germany 2-1 (16-21, 21-16, 15-10).

On Saturday morning the knock-out phase will start with the first-round matches. Later in the day, the second-round matches and the quarter-finals will follow.
