Ankara is the capital city of the Republic of Turkey. With a population of 4,587,558 it is Turkey's second largest city behind Istanbul. Ankara is a very old city with various Hittite, Phrygian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman heritage. Ankara was Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's headquarters from 1920 and has been the capital of the Republic since its founding in 1923, replacing Istanbul following the fall of the Ottoman Empire. The government is a prominent employer, but Ankara is also an important commercial and industrial city, located at the center of Turkey's road and railway networks.
Atlantis Shopping Mall is located in Batikent/Yenimahalle, which is the 3rd largest district of Ankara. The mall was opened in August 2011 and since May 2012 JLL Turkey is the managing partner. The mall covers 50.000 sqm gross leaseable area, consisting of 130 brands. Atlantis became a meeting point for local residents after recent renovations.
Atlantis Shopping Mall, having acted as the host of the very succesful CEV women Satellite in 2016, is raising further the bar this year and hosting for the first time a CEV Beach Volleyball Women Masters event.
